2008 Miami Tournament Results

The 2008 Miami Sharks Invitational concluded Sunday with the crowning of the host team Miami as Tournament champions after their 36-25 victory over runner-up West Point in the Championship game.  The Houston Stars took third place after defeating the Miami Remix team 29-18 on Sunday.

Once again, the Miami Tournament was broadcast live over the internet.  The tournament set a new record for viewers of a Handball tournament over the internet in the United States.

National Championships - Delaware

April 9, 2007

The Miami Sharks traveled to Newark, Deleware to the 2007 United States Open Championships with hopes of improving on last years runner-up finish, but a series of injuries contributed to the Sharks finishing in sixth place. 

New York Team Handball defeated West Point in the final to earn the 2007 gold.   Click here to watch each game.

2006 Open National Championships:

The Miami Sharks finished second at the 2006 Open National Championships hosted in Houston.  The Sharks sailed through pool play with a perfect 3-0 record. Miami faced Los Angeles Team Handball in the Quarterfinals, earning a trip to the semi-finals with a 15-9 win. In the semi-finals, the Sharks battled to a 17-10 win over Carolina Team Handball to advance to the Clubs first final in its brief three year existence.

In the final, Miami faced New York Athletic Club and the two teams battled back and forth before NYAC pulled out an 18-16 win to claim the gold medal.

Miami Shark newcomer Odael Marcos Puertas earned the Tournament's Most Valuable Player Award for his play.
